A folding, work knife I mean.

I went to a Knife shop the other day, would've bought right there and then...But I get a SNEAKING suspicion their prices are a bit 'prime'.

So, was hoping someone could suggest a good online store to shop for knives. I've like a good quality (Stainless Steel), about 3" folded, with a 'tang' edge.

Suggestions are much appreciated.

You cant go wrong with a "Buck" or "Uncle Henry" if you can find one. There are a lot pricier ones but if you want to really use it, get a Buck.

Mine is over 20 years old and like new. Dont know any online stores at the moment but most hunting stores and gun shops carry these. Try a Bass Pro if one in your area or search INET.

kershaw makes excellent knives. You are in the rice range of $30 - 100. Depends on the quality you buy.

Bladeforums would be a good place to ask the question.

Benchmade may have something you like. I particularly like the Axis-lock based knives. These include the 940, the 720, the 710, and the 730.

I personally would go for a SOG folding knife. Mine is a half-serrated locking blade with a thumb-dot for one handed opening/closing. It has great balance and feel, and I prefer it over gerber and spyderco, both of which I have used as well.

The blade has gone through hell and back since I got it in 1997 and I still haven't needed to sharpen the blade. Best damn piece of cutlery I have.

They supply knives for the Navy SEALs so how could you go wrong? ;)

amnesiac 2.0,
Where did you find the SOG folders?

Yucky,
A knife with a 'tang' edge means it's got an almost square front, instead of coming to a point.

I like knives and have a small collection

Benchmade have a good reputation, but mine sits in a drawer.

I like the Gerbers the best out of all my knives.

The Chameleon is really unique. And it's really light.

And I love my K.I.S.S. money clip by Columbia River

Actually, Wal-mart has decent prices, and Gart Bros. has sales now and then.

try here if these are legal in your state

I like Buck, Gerber, Kershaw & Spiderco.
My preference goes to to the Spiderco for it's thin design and light weight. :D

Red Dawn,

That's not a very knife thing to say about someone. You better be careful or OJ will fork you up.

Namuna,

Whatever you decide on check with your local gun shop. They usually have the best prices even if their selection is limited.
