Looking to build a new gaming system and am undecieded between conroe and AMD. Please recommend a CPU and Mobo for 350.00 or less Memory and video card will come later. Thanks in advance
 
Best bet right now is the Core 2 Duo's.

Intel Core 2 Duo ES6300 or ES6400. ($180-$220)

Any particular features you would like on the motherboard? Expect to pay around $100.

Also, this could technically be moved up to General Hardware.
