Help me build my first computer

Alright, I have never put together a whole computer before, only upgraded vid cards, ram, etc, but now that I need to upgrade, I think I'd like to put a whole one together myself. Now, here's what I'm considering purchasing.

AMD XP 1800
Shuttle AK31A
Geforce 3 or Radeon 8500 (not sure which one to go with)
512mb DDR ram

Now, for the rest, I haven't a clue. I have a monitor, but I still need to choose:

HS/F
Hard drive
Case
Soundcard (or should I use the onboard audio)
Speakers
DVD drive
Anything else?

Can anyone give me some suggestions on what to pick out? I'm going to be using it for mostly gaming and the internet. My budget should be around 800 bucks, give or take a few dollars. I doubt I'll be overclocking much if at all, so for a fan I want something that is pretty quiet but keeps the processor relatively cool. Thanks.

1) Now I recommend you get a retail boxed amd , unless you plan on ocing. This will take away any possible error on your part with compatability of hsf to board and potentially endangering the cpu core.

2) onboard audio for all kt266, sis735 mobos suck IMO...I don't know about kt266a...Maybe look at SB Audigy

3)I would get a maxtor harddrive...IBM's have a little to much smoke around them lately in the quality department. This is totally my opinion....

well I would pick a pioneer dvd drive because imo they make the best ones (or toshiba), seagate makes good harddrives, I have one in my current system and I quite enjoy it, it makes no noise, and it is fast. I have a geforce 3 and the graphics are very smoothe, and the radeon 8500 all in wonder that is in my friends computer looks very very nice, they are probably the same in performance, well maybe the radeon is a little faster. Logitech z560 are great speakers I highly recommend them, unless you want something a little cheaper, then go with labtec pulse 424's or something like that because they have good sound quality for the price. Antec makes nice cases, you should definately check them out, and swiftech makes nice heatsinks imo, and for a soundcard check out sb audigy or something made by hercules, probably don't want to go with onboard sound cause it doesn't sound very good, but thats just my opinion.
