Ok here is the parts that i have already, i got a Thermaltake Armor case with the big fan on the side, i got a 850w sli rosewill psu, i also have 2 8800GT's , also for a cooler i got Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme and i got 4GB PC-8500 1066mhz ram. Now i need a mobo and an Intel CPU which i can OC really good, im looking to spend around $500- $600 on both. Also im hearing that SLI is not that great so i might return the GT's and get 3870X2 for crossfire ? Any help would be greatly apreciated !

lol noobs. <3

SLI is better than xfire.

Make sure you get a fan for that Ultra 120. A high CFM Scythe 120mm fan is a good bet.

Mobo you shouldn't have to spend much; definitely not on the order for 500.

An E8500 (not out yet) & Asus Striker Extreme will get very close to your upper limit.

Hmm... Don't get the E8500, that's a waste of $80 that you could spend on something else, say, a game to play in the machine. How about the E8400? It has a multiplier of 9 whereas the E8500 has a multiplier of 9.5. Are you really going to pay $80 for another 0.5 multiplier?

The board... Hmm... You would want the 780i or 680i chipset for SLi. So the Striker Extreme looks good.

I'd rather have a x38 mobo and crossfired HD3870's then an old crappy chipset, and sli-ed 8800gt's. Getting to 4.0ghz won't be an easy task btw, and might require watercooling to keep temps satisfactory. If you can spend this much, spend 300$ on a good watercooling setup instead. And a Rosewill PSU when spending this much ? Funny ...
