Help me build an Ikea desk

I'm trying to build a Galant desk on the Ikea website...

So far I found the Galant desk, which apparently Ikea isn't wanting to really sell you anymore. This item is in my cart.

I am looking for: the monitor shelf and the desktop tower hanging shelves - I cannot find these. Ugh.

I don't get why Ikea can't just let you add items by part number on their website.

If anyone has links to these please post them up.

I don't know what your timeline is but you can probably request a catalog for free that should have part numbers in it.

Where else in this country can you get your occasional taste of horse meat and not know it! LOL!

I don't think they make the Gallant anymore... it's being phased out and replaced by BEKANT, which is exactly the same except the corners are curved for reasons.

as a result, their product supply is limited to whatever they may still happen to have in the warehouse. you may have better luck checking in a local store or going on ebay/Amazon.

I think they are in the process of phasing out their GALANT completely -- they introduced the BEKANT around this time last year which is very similar. There were some GALANT sales too late last year, but I can still find basic desks available now, just not in any colors except white. Maybe they just want to clear their stock of legs out, or it's now a second tier item.

Try Craiglist. They were around for at least a few years and very popular.

Yeah, Gallant is dead, and Bekant is in. It's roughly the same, minus the nicer looking 4 leg (the angled legs) - it's all the T legs now.

The monitor shelf is not a "real" product, but rather a combination of an Ekby Jarpen shelf and Capita legs. They're both available in a few different sizes; I stumbled across the blog post your images are from, and he used the 4 inch legs.

The doo-dad to hang a computer under the desk was apparently part of the Summera series but was discontinued some time ago.
