Ok here is my dilemma: I need to be able to run things on both a unix and windows machine, and I have ~$2500 to spend on a system. What I was hoping to do was spend it all on one SFF system with which to run both unix and windows applications, although I don't want to dual-boot and the programs within Unix to port windows apps seem to be lacking. So what i am considering instead, is to build 2 identical machines with which to run both applications with a KVM switch. So what I need is suggestions for the following:

building 2 systems (one running FreeBSD and the other windows XP or 2000)
the only qualifications is that they need to fit the budget and preferably include one monitor and a KVM to share peripherals between the two.

I would like to go as fast as the budget ($2500) will allow with decent storage space (doesn't need to be over 100 gig). I would prefer an intel system.

I would like to have SFF cases for the both of them so they don't take up much space and can be run side by side.

Please post any configurations that you would suggest. Graphics should be decent, but do not need to be intense gaming quality. And squeezing a 17" or better monitor into the package will make it tight.
thanks!
