Help me break the 3.2ghz barrier on my E2180!

I seemed to have hit a brick wall with my cpu, I'm sitting at 400x8 for the fsb. I just installed a Zalman CNPS9700 so maybe it'll give me a bit more headroom, I don't think I've tried going further since I installed it. I had a Hyper TX2 before that, which is perfect at 3.2ghz.

My ram is a 4gb OCZ ddr2 800 kit, board is gigabyte p35-ds3l. I'm sitting at 1.4v for the cpu, not sure how higher I can go and still be safe.

any suggestions to get some more juice?

Your memory, 2x2gb or 4x1gb? Give us all your details so we really have a place to start.

2x2gb, and I managed to get into windows with 340x10 fsb, but it seems rather unstable even with 1.45vcore.

I think BTRY is right, My e2160 was stable at 3.2 but beyond there was no go. I to had 2x2Gb of ram and you just put stress on MCh. Go HTO from there.

Ditto for mine. These E2xxx are great little chips but top out in the 3.1 - 3.3ghz range +/- 200mhz. Mine did 3.35ghz with 1.525v but that's ridiculous vcore for 24/7.

Once you're settled and Prime stable, try to OC your RAM next. Doing that should shave another 1 sec off the superpi 1m time. Mine is like ~ 19.06 secs at sig settings.

I agree that being satisfied with 3.2 ghz makes sense. That's where I'm at with my 2180 with a very reasonable voltage increase. Idle and load temps are fantastic with my Tuniq Tower and I see no reason trying to go for any extra mhz that really wouldn't be noticable in the long run.
