i'm 6'1 and 200lbs and I sometimes wear a medium, but for t-shirts I need a large. I think a medium would fit fine for you.

you weigh less than me but I'm about the same height. I wear medium shirts and they fit me pretty well. They are loose enough to be comfortable but tight enough not to look stupid.

I am 5'10" 150lb. and I pretty much only wear smalls. They are the tight you described without being too emo. I'd say a medium would be all you need.

Edit: I'm also fairly musclar. Not all boney.

Medium might be a little short. I'm 5'10", 160lbs, and some mediums fit quite tightly. I have a skinny upper body, though. Large is probably your best bet.
