I am having trouble for whatever reason right now doing the math. The split is confusing me!!

Ok, I sold 10 shares EBAY for $69.285 in 2004 (after the spread I got $692.84)

I bought shares in 2000 w/ a cost basis of $59.3125. There was 2:1 split in 2003, though.

So what is my gain? thanks.

so you bout 10 shares at 59.31, so you spent 593.10 on the stocks. with the 2:1 split you would now have 20 shares at (1/2 the price of the original cost at the split time) so say $30. then it increased to $69 so whatever your gain is there you go. you really didnt give ALL the info necessary.
