I thought you already own a 4890?

5770s will leave a single 4890 in the dust! You said you can sell your 4890 for $195. Dual 5770's can be had for $300. $105 to get 5870 performance from your 4890 is a good upgrade if you don't mind trying out CF (i.e. they will match 5870 with ease up to 1920x1200 if not more).

Which is why I'm asking... :)

I say 5850 easy to deal with don't have to worry about crossfire , See gains in all games lower power and heat.

The AT-AT says get a 5850 or two. And Darth Vader says to get an SSD.

2 5770s will be slightly slower then 2 4890s, but will use less power, generate less heat and have DX11. Either setup should be on par or slightly above a 5870. If you can get 2 of the 5770s at the price you linked earlier that's a helluva setup for $250 and you could easily get $150 for your current 4890. that's 5870 performance for $100 after its all said and done! That gets my vote.

This. isn't the performance between xfire 5770 and 5850 around the same? The 5850 is just a bit more and it is a single gpu solution, in the long run you can add another 5850 for cheap when you feel it isn't fast enough.

2 5770's will beat a 5870 in most games. And 5770's will also overclock well. 950/1300+ stock volts.

2 5750's are about the same as a 5850.
