My girlfriends newish laptop has been bluescreening. I MSRPtd her two minidump files, and both of them say Probably caused by : BATTC.SYS ( BATTC!BattCQueueWorker+c )
, which is the windows battery driver. To me, this likely means that her battery may be faulty, but she doesn't have an extra and I don't want to have her just run out and buy a new one if that's not the problem (and no, her comp/battery isn't on the recall list). If the log is calling that file the problem, could it be anything else?

When you have a BSoD, there's information displayed that can assist in determining the problem.

1. At the top of the BSoD, there's an error in all CAPS_AND_THE_WORDS_ARE_LIKE_THIS
2. next, the STOP Error, in hex like 0x00000000 (another, another, another, another)
3. The file "xxxx.sys" (whatever it is) is the system file that caused the BSoD.

These are to be taken lightly...sometimes they can be misleading.

does not look like it! I'll have my gf check for the stop error the next time in happens, but I think it'll be most likely that it'll give the same battc.sys file that the report found.
