Help me add domain users to Windows XP

Gepost

I just added an XP machine to my 2000 domain. I go to Users and try to add, but I only see the local machine users and no domain users. I am a domain admin and logged on to the domain. It says location, and I click that, but still it only shows me the local machine and not the network. I want to add the members of my OU to be able to log on to this machine.

I believe that they should automatically be able to if it is a member of the domain. I'm not 100% sure though.

What do you mean by 'add' users? Do you mean take domain users and give them local privilages? To log onto the domain you don't need to add them to the local box, just the domain.

Let's say I just want certain domain users to be able to log on to the local computer. In NT and 2000, under User Manager or Users, you can select the drop-down list that shows the domain users. However, I can't get any drop-down list to show up for my domain in XP Pro.

When you go into add a user (I only do this to add a domain user as an administrator, so I'm not sure if this only works if the local box is part of said domain) just hit advanced and then find all. It should spit out a list of every user that you can add. I'm not an expert on XP so, like I said, I'm not 100% this will work for you...
