Hello all,
I am trying to add a SATA hard drive to my computer, but Windows 2000 is having trouble with this. I have checked the device manager and it shows both the NVIDIA Nforce3 250 Paralell ATA and Serial ATA Contollers installed. The bios identifies the drive upon post, but windows hangs at the windows 2000 splash screen without fail. This is actually an old 80 gig drive that I am using a Parallel to Serial converter board on, but it should still work shouldn't it. Obviously this is my first experience with SATA so any ideas that might identify my problem would be appreciated.
