Help me activate Windows XP!

Ok, it said I had 28 days to activate WIndows XP. I rebooted the same day and it said I had to activate Windows or I wouldnt be able to log in. Fine. But whenever I tried to activate over the internet, it said it could not establish a connection. I believe this is because I am on DSL broadband. But how do I connect to the net so I can activate Windows? I really don't want to have to reformat and start all over again!

Yep, you can activate by phone. it's really not too bad (takes about 5 mins at most)


Tell it you want to talk to a CSR

If your phone is not next to the computer:
Write down the number it gives you on screen
Call the (normally) toll-free number
Follow instructions and type in the number on-screen using your phone keypad
Write down the number that is read to you
Type it into your computer

If your phone is next to the computer:
Phone the (normally) toll free number
Follow instructions and type in the number on-screen using your phone keypad
As you are read back a number, type it into your computer

Click on Done then Finish


Congratulations, you have sucessfully activated Windows XP 🙂
