I am Looking for some expert advice. I am looking at buying a NEW or USED video card. I have a USED BFG Geforce 6800gt offerd to me, it is 1yr old with a Artic cooler installed for $180.00 (and take a chance on the length of live and warrenty issues )... OR... do I get a New 6800gs and take a chance on not unlocking but have all the goodies that come with a new card (warrenty , lenght of live, ect.) 😕

I understand there are a lot of variables that play into it but just looking for a general thoughts.

Thanks for taking the time to read,
Miie 🙂

tough decision, go with a new 6800gs and get piece of mind or go with a used 6800gt(1yr. old) and get possibly a POS....with the 6800gt you're guaranteed 16/6vp, not so for the 6800gs and for $180 with a NV5 silencer that's hard to beat (shows the owner took the extra step to keep the card cool). i agree with the other members...6800gt.

I'm skeptical of buying used these days... been burned a little too often on used computer parts lately. So, I wouldn't advise that you buy the used 6800GT unless you know who it's from. So, that leaves you buying new. If you've got the case you can't wrong with the 6800GS. I just picked up the X1600XT myself and have no complaints... it's not the fastest accross the board, but will run with the 6800GT in newer games and has quite a few media/video features to boot. Cheaper then the 6800GS for me as well.
