Well... this is my last resort. I have an older system with an abit AB-TX5 motherboard. I wanted to add usb to it, but can't seem to make it work. I emailed Abit technical support and they sent me a diagram showing the pinout for the board.

USB 1
1 = +5V
2 = Ground
3 = USBPO-
4 = Ground
5 = USBPO+
6 = Ground
7 = Ground
8 = Ground
USB 2
9 = +5V
10 = Ground
11 = USBPO-
12 = Ground
13 = USBPO+
14 = Ground
15 = Ground
16 = Ground

I tried hooking it up using the red as the +5, white as the -, green as the +, and black as the ground. However, there are only 2 black grounds per connector and 5 places to possible connect them? I've tried different combinations to no avail. Does anyone know how to fix this or where I can get the cable for one of these things?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Present day USB connections have only 4 lines:

Power, USB-, USB+, Ground, in that order.

5V is also questionable...that seems a little too much to me.

i had a abit px5 and when i found a usb header for it i ended up toasting a game controller.

if you have a open pci slot it would be easier to buy a cheap usb card.
