Heres the deal. My dad has a power mac dual G4(733 i belive, been a while), and when he bought it, he got the 15" ACD(the older apple lcds), well, that crapped out on him. So he bought a new 20" apple display (which i've connected to my comp and is great!), with the silver bezel. He likes to use OS 9.2, and dosent want to use OS X as his programs he uses for work are only supported by 9.2.

Heres the thing, os 9.2 only goes up to 1024x768 in the monitors control panel. The monitors native is 1680x1080, and obviously he wants to run in that rez. Anybody know what the hell i got to do to enable higher resolution support in os 9.2? I'm looking around the net, but cant find anything specific, some people say it works, some don't, and its driveing me insane!!!!(why cant it just list the rez its suposed to run at?) Hope somebody knows what to do.

ask at the mac forums on arstechnica and you're bound to get a quicker response then here

I dunno your answer as my experience on OS9 was brief and painful.

If you can get a display like that getting Tiger shouldn't be that big a issue.

This doesn't answer your question directly but you really should be using OS X. Classic MacOS is the worst OS ever used in modern times.

Hey, thanks guys, i did software updates, and updated guess what..... Graphics card drivers, low and behold, it worked just fine after re-start (/me slaps self in face w/ keyboard). I always keep updated drivers, so i din even think they would need to be updated, they did.
