Help! Major Problem!!!!!

Few weeks ago... i reinstalled xp on my machine..i did format and everything went fine... few days later, the D drive was unable to work... it said that it needed to be formated... but i should have a whole of shiet in it.... then... the cd-rom doesn't work too... it can detect the disc and everything...even burn a cd...but i won't be able to see the damn files... inaddition, the a drive doesn't work...everything wants to be formatted... even tho it is... even my friends' coolpix 2500......Please help!!! I really really need your help!

what are the specs of the computer? mobo? cpu?

my guess is that the mobo might be dying on you.

See if you can retrieve the files using msdos commands and save it to floppy. My guess is that your HDD is corrupt.
