HELP! Lost USB Flash drive... any way to recover temp files?

During school today I lost my USB flash drive which contains my college essays, among other important things. What is on that drive is priceless. Unfortunately, I had not yet made a backup of the drive on my computer, so everything is gone. I was wondering if there is any way to recover temporary files that Word might have saved while I was working on the documents last night. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
