Help looking getting a new phone

I have always just gone to Verizon when I needed a new phone. Of course the prices are ridiculous. I want to buy a phone and then just activate it. What do I have to look for? Will any unlocked phone work? Do I need GSM or CDMA? I don't use my phone for anything except for basic tasks. Phone, text, internet access when I don't have access to a computer.

Pick up something on Ebay if you don’t need the latest. I use a store called BidAllies. Make sure its Verizon branded.

I wouldn't use the Bay for that. You don't need VZW branded, but you need VZW capable/compatible IF you want to stay with VZW.

I would try to buy from a manufacturer if possible. Motorola is having some decent sales. You don't say what you budget is though.

I am staying with Verizon. I don't have time to be switching carrier. Again will any unlocked phone work? I don't really have a budget. I can spend whatever I want but I don't want to spend more than I have to. The only feature that I really care about is the camera and having at least 128GB of internal storage. Not even sure why I would need dual sim slots? Also, not an iphone.

That's an international phone. Don't buy that for use in the USA - especially if you hope to use it with Verizon or AT&T. There is no US version of the A73 but you could go with an A53.

How about a Google Pixel 6a? It's on sale at Amazon for $299 right now. Works with Verizon, has 128GB of storage... and more importantly, takes excellent photos for the money. Also an easy choice if you want timely OS updates and lots of Google-specific features.

I wouldn't, if I'm honest. It's a two-year-old phone from before Samsung pledged four years of OS updates, so you're not guaranteed to have support for long. It's also a Korean version of the phone (unlocked, but still) sold by a third-party reseller; that's a lot to pay for an older Android phone from outside the country, even though it should work properly here.

If you're willing to spend that kind of money, snag a Pixel 7. You'll get a 50MP main camera that will put the 64MP unit on the S20+ to shame, plus a generally more modern phone with longer-term OS support.

What is your budget and what OS you are interested in? There are a lot of models online, I would go with a Xiaomi of latest model or one of the latest apple phones.

Resolution is a great marketing number but in no way guarantees good pictures. My 20MP Nikon camera takes noticeably better pictures than my Pixel 6. If you're not in a contract with Verizon, you might switch to T-mo and they will give you a very high end phone for free. Depends on what plan you get, of course. But it's a good deal if you want a current flagship phone.

That's probably because of the lens in the camera. I would rather not change carriers at the moment. I don't need a flagship phone but my current phone is getting old. It works fine but it won't charge with the USB port so I have to use a magnetic charger and the battery doesn't hold a charge very well.
