Hello all,

I need suggestions about what mp3 player that I should buy. My criterias are :
1. This mp3 player can also function as data storage device, for any kind of data, not only mp3
2. Because I want it to become data storage, then this player must at least be able to hold gigabytes of data
3. No driver or application required. I will only need to plug it in a computer and transfer data using Windows Explorer.

I have read some of previous topics about mp3 player in this forum, but I still cannot find the one that I am looking for. Can anybody help me ? Thank you and sorry for the bad English.

Well, this was also one of the criteria when I purchased mine. I know a few which fit this: the iAudio M3 and the iRivier ihp120/140. I ended up getting the M3 (mainly because the other was discontinued). These are both 1.8" hard drive based though and store 20 or 40 GB, I'm not sure how many gigabytes you're looking to store. There is the Creative Muvo2 (which I believe was also getting discontinued) and stores 4GB on a microdrive.

Thank you for your reply. I've searched for some info in the internet about the iAudio M3. Looks like it is a good device. But the problem is, I cannot find it in my country. Ugh, at times like this, I really wish I live in a high-tech country.

iAudio M3 doesn't have a display on the unit itself, you have to use the remote. Looks very very slick though. The all new iAudio M5 has a color screen. If iAudio's not available, look up iRiver H120 or H320. Also check out Creative Zen Micro

Thank you for all suggestion. I had decided to expand my needs and bought an Archos Gmini400 instead. Just received the unit yesterday and done some preliminary testing. So far so good. All 3 of my basic needs are filled perfectly by this gadget, plus it also can play my divx collections without having to re-encode them first.
