HELP!!...LOOKING AT A BLANK (PITCH BLACK) SCREEN

SeaHarp

Just got my system running and thought I'd start to play a little. Changed a few numbers in my softmenuIII and saved my settings. Now voila....black screen. Thing is, I dont know how to make changes when I cant see. Appreciate advise and suggestions

Also, I can hear and see that everything is still operating just no beep or picture.

Thanks
Chris

Try resetting the CMOS. If it's a newer Asus board, there will be two solderings near the batter of the motherboard. Use a flathead screwdriver to short these out, and be sure you have the PSU off. Consult your manual if you don't have an Asus board. That's the only brand I use. Check for "Resetting the CMOS". Sounds like the SoftMenuIII is an Abit board. Look in your manual and reset the CMOS. Good luck to ya!
