HELP: login parameter incorrect!!

after downloading some security updates, including the GDI+, i was asked to restart.

after restart i could not login anymore, it said "The system cannot log you on due to the following error: The parameter is incorrect"

i confirm i have the correct password and if i try to key in something else, it will prompt password incorrect.

so what is this parameter incorrect about? how should i login.

btw, i have the recoverty console installed and i would able to login into it.
