Help locating replacement laptop battery

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1105 (bought at Costco) and I'm trying to find another battery for it. Right now it's just a standard NiMH battery. I'd like to get a lithium-ion battery if one is available, but I can't seem to find one, let alone a duplicate of what I have now.

The number on the battery is: PA32IOU-IBRS

Any ideas? Will any Toshiba battery work, or are the batteries model-specific?

Thanks,

joel

You might see some interchangeability of batteries in notebook model lines, but my experience has been that you have to get a battery specifically designed for your model. In addition to this consideration is the fact that the charging system, and the power conservation features of the notebook itself, are usually designed for a particular battery type. The same notebook would not normally be expected to successfully use NiCad, NiMH, and Lithium Ion batteries interchangeably. It's not just a matter of finding one that fits in the hole.
