help linux doesn't let me connect to the internet

i have xandros newest version and i'm using verizon dsl.


for some reason, it wouldn't let me choose the wireless (microsoft) adapter for my laptop as a connection device when i went to "connection wizard". it only let me choose my laptop's built in ethernet

even though it shows up in "control center" as a wireless device and it's receiving signal.



it's when i went to

where do i type that? i tried on the run command and it doesn't work

Yes. Where the configuration is done.

bash: ifconfig: command not found

/sbin/ifconfig -a

maybe /sbin is not defined in the path
