help: Linksys BEFSR41 Ver. 2 - diagnostic light comes on frequently

I have a simple setup with a 4 port Linksys and a standard toshiba cable modem from Road Runner.

After X hours ( sometimes 3 hours, sometimes about 20 hrs ), the red diagnostic light will go on and I'll have to power cycle the router to get my connection back on.

Did some searching, and upgraded to the latest firmware. But the problem still persists ...

Any ideas ?

Is it time to get a new router ? this one I have is only about a year old.

On the router or the modem ?

on the router .

cable modem appears to be fine and functioning ...

Sounds like malfunctioning, call up Linksys for RMA.
