Help! Last-ditch effort on finding a power supply!

Okay, I keep posting, but get no satisfactory results... so this my last-ditch effort to get some advice on purchasing a power supply.

Because I use my machine for audio recording, I need a power supply that produces the least noise possible. Unfortunately, I find that the power supplies usually recommended for low noise, such as Enermax or Quietpc.com's power supplies, have a temperature-controlled fan speed that changes as the power supply heats up. While low noise is important, a steady noise level is more important, so a power supply with a temperature-controlled fan is not a good solution.

I'm told, however, that there's a way to keep the fan in a temperature-controlled unit going at a constant rate. Is this a simple procedure? How is it done? Is it safe, and more importantly, will it end up causing even more noise than a power supply with a constant-speed fan?

Or can someone recommend a power supply that has a low, but consistent noise level?

Help me, Anandtech forumites. You're my only hope.

Though not recommended for most people, you can get any power supply and replace the fan with one of your own, wiring the power externally even, if needed. I would do this!

Take out the fans of a good PS, and wire in your own panflo L1a's. Power then externally, and run at 7V. I promise, you will not hear them at ALL. Be sure you mount with rubber washers.

The fan speed control gizmo in a power supply is a plug in device that can be easily eliminated if you have any mechanical ability at all. Unplug and remove the supply from the case, pull the cover and it will be intuitively obvious to the most casual observer what is required. I am looking at one of the little devices at the moment that I removed a while back.

Well, I don't want to go screwing with the internals... so I guess it's back to the drawing board again.

Does anybody know if QuietPC.com's power supply is still extremely quiet even at its highest fan speed?

Aside from that, what power supplies have steady fan speeds and low noise?

PC Power & Cooling Power Supplies are supposed to be the quietest. I do know that their silencer auxilary fans are very quiet. And I have replaced the fan in a Power Supply with a Silencer fan, and it is extremely quiet. However, that procedure takes a bit of nerve, and a small amount of skill with a soldering iron, and/or some midnight engineering aptitude...

All right, then... sounds like their 400W Silencer model is right up my alley. Thanks!
