Help: Laptop Screen Blank

My cousin has a IBM 365XD and when it is turned on the screen lights up but there is no video. (It just stays a light black color).
If I hook it up to a to a monitor, I can see the stuff on the screen and it boots fine.

Anyone know how to fix this?

My guess is that this is either something loose.

Thanks in Advance.

If you go into Windows (with monitor hooked up),
right-click Desktop \ Properties \ Settings \ Advanced \ Monitor
and make sure that LCD/MONITOR (both) is ticked

The screen is blank from the moment I turn the machine on. So I don't think it is a windows driver situation... but I'll try that.

Thanks.

Try hitting <Fn> + <F5> or <Fn> + <F7>. Possible that the laptop is outputting to external display only.
