HELP!! L4D2 mouse not working

First of L4D works fine.
After a steam update to my L4D2 then it got to the menu page.
There was no mouse control to be found.
Trying to use any other keys on keyboard, including ESC key doesn't seem to work.
Note that I've played it previously fine although it has been a while until now.

Do you have a gamepad plugged in?

Yes it is w/l 360 but it's turned off.
