Help kt7 an duron morgan core UPDATE

ok i just bought i kt7 just to play around an i have morgan core duron will the duron work in the kt7 couldnt find any info on abit's website.

anyone tried a morgan duron in a kt7 an worked

If you are having problems, make sure you are'nt trying to boot-up at 133MHz FSB. But i'm only guessing here because you are'nt specific about any problems you're having. The Duron should work fine.

I have a Abit Kt7a-Raid and I'm running a 1.2Ghz Morgan Core Duron and it's doing fine. Except for the fact that I kinda meesed up the lug for the HSF and now it slips and doesn't want to stay in place, it's fine.

hmm i dont think akt7 has 133fsb anyway i havent try it yet. Im going to test it tonight just checking if i need to get a regular spitfire duron or not.

You need to update the BIOS and it will work fine. If the BIOS is not new enough it will come up as a Athlon. So update the BIOS so it takes advatage of the updated core.

hmm i put my duron morgan in it didnt work
the comp turn on (black screen) but the monitor did not

i tried a differant memory and vid card agp an, still got the same results.

Then took the duron out an tried it on another mobo no problem it worked so its not the duron. I think it maybe the bios need update?
please help

I take it you did reset the BIOS(CMOS) before?

Also do you have another CPU to test the biard with?

yes I reset the cmos.I tested the cpu in another board an it works fine

I dont have a regular duron or athlon to test i may have to pickup another chip duron just to check

Looking at Abit website it looks like they got their bioses mixed up.

I would go with this one KT7-Raid page and BIOS ID: 3R.

...since this page is obviously wrong. Celeron and Northwood on a socket A?
