Alright, I got my xp mobile 2500 in the mail today from ebay. I pop out my xp2100(palomino) and pop in the mobile barton 2500. I had also updated my bios on the asus a7v333 mobo to the latest bios. Its installed and mounted correctlly and im getitng a "no post" and the monitor isnt displaying a signal. I tried the xp2100 and same thing! I tried it with nothing but ram and a video card, etc. I tried taking out the cmos battery, but same result! I even tried a different monitor and it is the same result. Please help, thanks.

if it worked before and it's not working now even after you back tracked to the original source. I would say some how you either screwed up flashing the bios or... ur killed ur motherboard. 🙁

I updated the bios a few weeks ago and no problemos. I've just come to the conclusion that its a crappy mobo. I would've had to upgrade anyways if I wana oc my cpu fsb to 2oomhz. Thing is though, I tried my xp2100 proc in another viachipset abit kt7a mobo, and hte same thing happened! must be something with this via chipset.

That board actually does offer support for a few Barton CPU's although on PCB version 2.0 and it doesn't seem to include any XP-M chips.

That's an old board to be trying out a Barton mobile chip in; KT333 chipset. You'd be best served buying a new/cheap NForce2 board.
