Help!!!! K7S5A Standby Problem

This is my fourth attempt @ getting my new XP 1700 machine up and running. After 3 dead Microstar MBs, I opted to try the ECS . Everything is now great except for one annoying problem, the machine will not recover from standby or hibernation mode.

ECSUSA site has a few threads with the same problem, but I couldn't find a solution. This is may last hope!
When machine enters standby and I try to wake, the fans/hd rev but the monitor refuses to come back from Standby. I must turn off and back on @ back of case in order to reboot windows.

I have the following

Windows XP Pro
Athlon XP 1700 chip
ECS K7S5A
Kingston PC-266 256MB DDR
SILURO GF2 MX400
Soundblaster Audigy MP3
Future Power OPAL 400W

I am not using the onboard sound, lan, or modem.

I have tried all ACPI settings in the Bios and have finally decided to turn Windows ACPI off. I do, however, wish the machine would power down correctly.

I would probably get rid of the board if not for my previous problems with the Microstar MS-6830LE.

Thanks for any help!

Search Microsoft's KnowledgeBase, Windows XP, for Q311542. Here is an excerpt from the article:

SYMPTOMS
When you resume your computer from standby, your computer may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE
This problem can occur if the Pci.sys driver does not wait the required 10 milliseconds to access a device after power is turned on.

RESOLUTION
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem described in this article and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing at a later time, to further ensure product quality. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this fix.

Hope this helps. Fishhawk
