Help! Issues with Dell 2001FP

Hi folks,

Well my Dell 2001FP LCD is here and I'm not sure if it's working properly or not. I have the DVI interface setup, but can not use Auto Adjust or play around with the contrast settings... Also, the screen is VERY bright when viewing anything with a white background. I have also noticed some graininess with text and some digital photo's. What gives? Why can't I adjust contrast or use Auto Adjust?

My specs are:

Nov 03 Build Date

B9D Version

Radeon 9800 Pro

Dell XPS

Any advice? I'm not sure I want to keep the monitor....

I heard that you can't change the contrast when you are using DVI on that monitor... You can probably change it through your video card settings. That problem is very common on 2001FP, so I wouldn't worry about it.

ATI should have some settings you can use to adjust all the video output. I adjusted it when I outputed to DVI a while back.

Just got mine today, and having no probs at all, contrast/brightness etc is adjusted with the video card. After reading all the bad things about this monitor, I was getting ready to receive, then ship it right back after a test of it/ not so, I love it.
Edit: Build date is Oct. 2003 B9D
