Help! Is there an attorney in the house?

I'm in need of a real estate attorney and/or a tax attorney or CPA. I'm looking for an individual or two to be a moderator and "in house" expert on the new forum boards on my website.
It's a creative real estate related site. The questions run the gamut from contract information to tenant/landlord issues, and just about anything in between. Questions also arise on various tax related issues, LLC's, etc.
I'm not looking for someone to offer specific legal advice to any member, (although if you pick up a client or two along the way, good for you). Rather, just some general advice and replies to provide direction to a member.
As a moderator you would be alerted as posts are made and you would then reply at your convenience.
In exchange I am offering no pay, and even less benefits. However, my wife is a very attractive Latina, with loads of single friends who view the average male as a disposable piece of candy. Love 'em and leave 'em Lolita's...........

How hard could it be to play attorney on a message board?

Ipsa res loquitor! Habeas corpus! In hoc signo vinces!

Do I get the job? :)

Can lawyers do that? I thought they could not give out legal advice unless they were licensed in the state where the person is.

The attorney wouldn't be giving specific legal counsel. Rather, general opinions based on their studies and experience. In fact, there are a number of legal advice boards presently online.
Anyway, it appears ATOT doesn't attract attorneys of CPA's. Wonder why? There seem to be a lot of folks here in desperate need of help of all sorts.

C'mon, there must be someone on this board who has a legal background.
Tell you what, I'll settle for someone who has been arrested a few times and knows their way around the criminal justice system....

Is Don_Vito an attorney, or does he know one as a result of his RICO indictment?

Devil's Advocate just passed his bar exams in Texas. You might want to PM him to see if he's interested.

Thank you, bmacd. I will send Devil's Advicate a PM. I've also been in touch with our bud, Frenchie. He might be interested in helping out, too. Good deal! I'm as thrilled as my mother in law at an all you can eat for $2.99 buffet!

I am an attorney, but I can't really help with this for various reasons. Devil's Advocate may not be restricted in the same ways I am.

Sorry dude. I am on a tight leash in Texas ;) Best of luck though.

What is this about a RICO indictment? :)

Guys, what kind of "leash", as you say, are you on? Does the State Bar prevent you from participating in an open forum? Of course, a disclaimer would be boldly evident, stating something along the lines that "the following should not be considered to be legal advice. Please consult an attorney for additional and specific information". etc..........
Would that matter?

My main concern is the possibility of engaging in the unauthorized practice of law in jurisdictions outside my own. I am licensed to practice law in Texas, not nation -or even worldwide.
