`Hi..

Currently I'm using Neotrace to check ping status etc.. BUT it don't messure my timeouts.. I can see that it dropps node 2,3 f.eks.. I can se that those and others are dropped severall times.. (like 20-40 times in a hour). Neo trace is just showing dropped packets.. 1 2 3.. But is don't show me have many timeouts and how long this timeouts are. The timeouts effect my ftp uploads.. have to reconnect everytime I get a timeout.. web pages taking much longer time to load.. if I click refresh it suddenly go fast.. (this is after the timeout is "completed&quot😉.

please tell me there is a program out there that can messure stuff like this!!

Neotrace is great at measuring timeouts. Right click on a node and select timing details. Dropped packets=timeout. Check your neotrace options for timeout values, default is three seconds.

This measures that actual packets that did not get a response within the timeout threshold of 3 seconds. If you get four packet timeouts (drops) in a row then your TCP session will drop, this is also known as a TCP timeout and your application, FTP, will fail.

If you are dropping more than 5% of your packets then you have problems with the network or the server is WAY to frickin busy.

Bottom line, neotrace measures packet timeouts but an application timeout will require four consecutive packet timeouts. Call your IT staff or your network provider.

test from 2400 to 0610!!

Why is it that so much ppl have problem with their cable provider? is it that this technologie is not good enough, or is it just a common sence that all cable providers all over just think of profitt and don't really care to give good service?

WOW, that is pretty poor. I don't know much about the UK pops but those kinds of numbers look terrible.

Continue escalating to your service provider. Get level 2 or 3 techs that actually have a clue.

Also if this is a cable modem apply MTUpatch from www.tweakfiles.com

Hope this helps!

Uh.. strange that you can't access them shadow..

well I work for the same company.. but not in the same market.. (i work with phonelines).. I have a direct contact with tech ppl so I talked with them today.

Info I got..

1. Nemo (provider of the bridges they use) has given the wrong number of custumers that the bridge can handle..
2. Reason for my timeouts is that the software on the switch or bridge (can't remember) has a faulth. They are restarting them self often in short time intervall.. They have restarted it today and hoping that will fix the problem (I don't think so)..

Well trying a test right now and it shows that node 1 and 2 is good.. but the rest is bad.. over 20% packett loss.. Well hope this gets fixed by tomorrow..
