HELP!!! Is the ASUS A7V KT133 Compatible with Duron 1Ghz?

I have an Asus A7V and purchased a Duron 1Ghz chip. I put the chip in, start the computer, and it freezes/doesn't move past the BIOS screen after the PCI Devices Listing. Can I fix this problem so that I can start up into Windows XP, or do I need another motherboard that is compatible with the Duron 1Ghz Chip? According to ASUS, the A7V KT133 does support up to 1Ghz. Thanks.

Yes it does support the Duron. Is the heatsink securely on your cpu?

You have a "Morgan" Duron. You need to check the Asus website, and see if the latest BIOS supports it. Then, you need to pop in another, older CPU in order to flash the BIOS.
