Help iOS migration

I've got to use an iPad at work. As a long time android user in lost as my total ios use so far is checking maps in an apple store, or web browsing on a friends. there is quite a steep learning curve and as someone relatively tech literate is a bit of a shock not knowing how to do things.

I don't want to get into an iOS vs android thread as I'm happy to admit there are things Andros does better than iOS and I'm sure the situation is the same the other way. What I want is advice.

Does anybody have any good sites/info for those new to iOS?

Are there any ways to make iOS more Android like?

is there an equivalent of 'share with xxx app' would be a great place to start as I've got lots of photos in skydrive that I want to use in a book making app and no obviously (maybe that says simmering about me) easy way to get them across.

thanks (sorry for any typos, on the tablet now)

After two days and a group of youngsters making books my first impressions are:

ipad airs are very smooth (far more so than my old nexus 7). The kids loved that things happened instantly and that typing was really easy.

BookCreator as an app is very professional and slick.

Google drive is more useful than skydrive. The desktop site says it won't open in safari but it works fine.

There appears to be limited sharing between apps (intentionally and annoyingly), but there are workarounds. You have to save photos from the GDrive website to your photostream and then import directly from that into book creator.

Without stable wifi/internet they are far less useful than laptops (see point above).

You need itunes to put images on an ipad. Drag and drop??? Really stupid if you can't plug it into a computer with itunes on.

Children are really resourceful and decided the easiest way to get round some of these problems was to use the desktop and projector to project the photos and then use the ipads camera to photograph them again (practical problem solving extraordinaire).

The camera and microphone on the airs are really good.

I still need to learn how to play to ios strengths.

Most sites if you put ipad, beginner, learning, ios, how to, start etc etc etc either tell you how to send emails or how to become a developer.
