Help: Invalid file in Recycle Bin

pulse8

Lifer
There are 3 visible and 1 hidden item in the recycle bin of an external firewire drive, but they all have weird filenames. I don't know if it will translate to the web, but here it goes:

¨g¡ý7¨p¨Y¨¢x¡Ý.
TVOD☺
☺

The two squares above are happy faces. I can't delete these files for the life of me. It keeps telling me that "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." I can see how they are incorrect, but how can I fix it? These were at one time video files, so the 4 files take up about 9GB of space. Can I get rid of these without formatting the drive?

Thanks,
David

On the drive in question, you might try going into Recycle Bin properties and reducing its size to zero. Hopefully the files will not be there when the size is restored to normal.

Unfortunately, I've tried that and it didn't seem to work.
