help installing

Ok. I have ordered the Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer REV. 3. I am waiting on it now because my videocard fan has died and gone to hell.

Does anyone know of any tutorials or anything on installing these? Is it hard? I have searched google, but havn't found anything on how to install them yet.

Thanks

Make "certain" you check the HS for proper contact on the GPU, ATI uses a shim and some models require the shim to be removed for proper contact (My AIW 9700pro for instance)

The other tip I have is to use a hair blow dryer to easily remove the stock HS from the GPU, ATI's thermal pad was extremely well secured on my card.

The Techpowerup method abovce was pretty much the way I installed mine.

yeah, you'll have to remove the shim or you'll have a expensive piece of fried silicon on pcb.
use a little craft knife to just take it off.

Ah ok. Well, this doesn't sound too hard. Can't be any harder than putting on a CPU fan for your first time.. atleast for me it was hard.

The shim can be a little trouble, I popped mine off with the corner of a razor blade and it worked easily...be careful.
