Help -- Installing Win98 Prog Changed Logoff Screen To Old Style.

My drive crashed, and I had to re-install XP Pro from the ground up. Everything went well until I installed my older printed circuit layout program, Protel 98. When I went to reboot, I got the old style Windows screen, instead of the newer three colored option buttons.

This happened in the previous build, too, but everything worked OK, and for some reason a later installation of another program restored the correct screen.

Anyone got any ideas about how to restore the current logoff screen?

I Ghosted just before installing this program so I can go back to where I was, but I'd really like to be able to restore the newer logoff screen.

TIA 🙂

Oh noes! You didn't have a recent image?

control panel > user accts. > change the way users log on or off > select Use the Welcome screen

Thanks. Yes, as I said, I Ghosted my drive just before installing Protel 98 so I can go back to that point.

I looked at the setting in the Control Panel, and it was checked. I even unchecked it, clicked "Apply Options," and rechecked and reset it, but my system still shows the older style logoff menu when I go to shut down.

I'm guessing the actual logoff graphic was replaced by an older version.
