Help installing USB/IRDA on Vista

I have a Cables Unlimited USB/IRDA bridge. It worked fine in XP, and worked on Vista RC1. Now, on Vista Ultimate it does not install. It attempts to install upon connection, but there is no native Vista driver. I installed the XP driver from Cables unlimited (worked on RC1) and the install fails at the end. Have tried compatibility modes, administrator modes etc. I also searched for alternate drivers, tried a few, no success.

I have not gotten any response from from the mfg, so am looking to see if you have any suggestions.
