Help installing Radeon R9 270x

I had a Dell 620 Inspiron Desktop 2nd gen i3 with a MSI 6450 HD card added., running Win 7 Home w/4GB RAM
I just added a cosair 600W PSU and everything is fine.
then I added a MSI R9 270x card and although the fans on the card work, no video signal.
I took it out and replaced it back with the MSI 6450 HD and works fine - so something with the video card.
What should I be doing, I plugged in the 2 power plugs into the top of the video card - am I doing something wrong?

Any ideas?

You might have to update the bios of your computer from Dell's website.

I updated the BIOS but still nada. Any other ideas?

I just flicked a tiny switch on top of the card
and now it works. Any idea what that is?

It may be a UEFI switch, my Sapphire 290 tri X's have them.

BIOS switch most likely
