My xp home came in today for my new computer. When I put it in and reboot it keeps saying disk boot error. I have a dvd rom as my only drive and I set it to first boot. I also switched it from 1st and 2nd priority ide drive. Any clue on what can be my problem?

Hi, If you put the DVD drive on the cable with another drive then you would have had to move the jumper from MAster to Slave. If you have a new style cable, the connectors are color coded, then both drives on the cable will have to be set to CS (Cable Select). Position on that cable will determine which is C: and which is D: etc. Hope this helps, Jim
