Help installing heatsink

I use the heatsink that came with the CPU (q6600). I took the heatsink off the cpu because I noticed it wasn't 100% securely mounted, and now I have problem trying to put it in. I remember all I need to do is push the notches into the hole diagonally, 2 at a time, but I just can't. Then I try really hard and i found that the plastic side pins that are on both side of the black pin that is suppose to go to the hole is bent, but I was able to get the black pin in. Am I suppose to push the notches to bend the 2 outer plastic pin so the black pin in the middle can go into the hole on the motherboard?

I had a hard time with mine, I played with it for a while and I have to say is the whole clip thing is a cheap easy to break load. Thank god my Tuniq will be here tomarrow.

The black pin needs to be up inside the white sheath before it will install in the mobo. If it isn't, it won't lock in place. so just fidget around until you get the black pin to retreat inside the white sheath on all 4 pins, then align the HSF over the 4 holes in the mobo and you'll be able to push them into the mobo until they lock...

Another method is to have the mobo removed drom your case so you can see that the pins are locked in place beneath the mobo, then install the mobo. Easier the other way though

I read the post and Noels already gave my suggestion, but I'll give it anyways to show how good of a suggestion it is.
Remove the motherboard from the case and do it. You'll be able to see whats going on better and have more mobility.
