Help installing graphics card

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to install a radeon 9100 graphics card into a pci slot on an older compaq. I cannot get it to boot with the card in the slot. There is no way to disable the onboard graphics card in bios. Does this mean that I am out of luck? Any suggestions would help me out...thanks a bunch.

There might be a jumper on the motherboard you can change to disable it, just a guess.

Last time I did a video card upgrade on an old compaq. I had to upgrade the
BIOS on the Compaq MoBo or else it would not take the video card. (Voodoo)

Suggest you go to Compaq site and check if your mobo will take a new video card.
