Help Installing Game? Insufficient Video Card?

My wife has an HP DV1000 Special Edition. The lap top is only 6 months old. Last night we tried installing a game on her computer and it came back saying that the video card was insufficient and the game could not be installed. It says that in order to install it we need "ACCEL" and that we have "ACCEL" so I am wondering why the game will not install.

It suggested updating the drivers however I am not sure where to go to do this.

Basically I need help figuring out why a new laptop cannot support this game.

Your laptop uses "intel extreme graphics 2" through the Intel 855GM chipset. It uses shared system Ram.

This means you don't have super fast dedicated video ram with it's own bus.
It also means you don't have a fast gpu.
In essence, my old pentium 2 with a voodoo 2 card has better 3d performance than your laptop.
I would be surprised if ANY recent games would actually play at that monitor's native resolution and get semi decent framerates.

Laptops aren't usually built for powerful 3d acceleration or gaming. There are laptops out there that are capable, however, ANYTHING that uses "intel extreme graphics" or "shared memmory" is pretty much trash for games.

Nope. Integrated graphics just are not capable of running higher-end games. And because it's a laptop, you can't add a video card. Sorry, but you're SOL.
