Hey all,
I'm kind of new at this, and wanted to make sure I'm doing it right. I got myself a Thermalright AX-7 heatsink and, separately, a Delta 80mm fan for my CPU cooling solution. I want to make sure I'm installing the fan correctly onto the heatsink, because neither piece comes with any detailed instructions on the matter.
So the heatsink comes with these really long screws that look like they should go through my fan, and then screw the fan onto the heatsink? Is that right? There's not really an obvious place on the AX-7 where you're supposed to screw things in. The end fins on each side are a bit wider, and line up with the screw holes so I'm guessing that's the proper place, right? Also, it came with these stubby rubber grommet looking things. Do I want to use those to put some distance between my fan and heatsink? Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it.
