Help installing Compaq SMART-2/P Array Controller

Anyone ever install a Compaq SMART-2/P Array Controller in a non-Compaq PC? The Win2000 drivers are available for setup and control from within Windows. The documentation claims that the first array needs to be set up from Compaq boot utility. Any way to get around this? I have a 12 gig Raid 0 already set up on the card in the compaq server, but I want to relocate it to a newer, generic PC.
Any help would be appreciated,

The SmartStart CD that comes with every Compaq server is bootable, and has the utilities on it. It also should have all the diskette images you could ever want. 🙂

If you put it into a working system, the autorun menu will bring up a diskette creator tool--one set of boot diskettes is the RAID Array configuration tool.

I have had mixed luck moving Compaq hardware to non-Compaq systems. Have you tried just moving the card/drives over the new system, and seeing if it will boot? My concern is that the Smart2P doesn't have its own BIOS, but depends on the (Compaq) motherboard to have the BIOS, to make it bootable.
