Help installing an IBM 75gig HD *Booting prob!*

Ok i got me a 75gig IBM HD and I am trying to install it on my Iwill KK266-r(not using raid). i can boot to a floppy and fdisk the drive. I can format the drive and the bios reconizes it as a 75gig HD. When formatted, it is 75gig. Now here is the problem. I can not make this thing bootable. I've formatted it from within DOS using the /s switch. When I try to boot to it, my it's like it's not even there. Normally you get a no OS found message, but i dont even get that. I see that IBM has a overlay, but I dont really want to run the overlay...won that slow it down or slow my system down???

thanks

Take a look at the "boot" section of your BIOS and make sure that the HD (or the ATA100 controller, if you have one) is chosen as a boot option.

Yeah thats set ok. This is not a new system, i had a 26gig and I am replacing it witht he 75gig. The 26gig maxtor boots no prob. I take it out and replce it with the 75gig(set to master) and reboot via floppy, fdisk, and format....no boot 🙁
If I boot to floppy again, I can see/read/write to the 75gig, just no boot
