Help: Installed DVD Drive, Now All Audio Has Echo.

I am using Windows XP and LG 4120B DVD Drive.

When I installed this DVD drive I noticed all my audio has heavy echo.
I have not installed any extra software except the drivers Windows Plug and Play installs.

I noticed that when I my previous CD rom drive did not have a analog audio cable. I was wondering if my DVD drive could function without it.
